Waking Up Is Hard To Do

Friday workout: 3 miles on the tread 1.0 incline
Via

I woke up in a panic at 4:40 this morning. I thought I had overslept for my morning workout.

We hadn't been able to do the morning routine for the last two days so my body was super confused. We did separate treadmill workouts today - she did some intervals and lunges while I just ran 3 miles as fast as I could.

I arrived a little late, so I wanted a minimum of 3 miles but was still trying to get to to my desk by my normal time.
Full disclosure, this is an old pic. I really did 3.2 in 28ish minutes, but didn't take a pic.

We decided it would be fun to see how fast I could go. I got up to 10.0 (6 minute mile) for about 30 seconds but then I became a wuss and was afraid I might fly off the back of the treadmill.

The workout felt good. It was my only run this week. Yikes.

I just checked the weather and it looks like it should be cold, but dry for running club tomorrow! Yay. I haven't been in a few weeks and won't be able to go for another few, so I am super excited to see all of my friends! Most of their marathons have already been run, so I will get to congratulate them too!

Speaking of which, how do you feel about the NYC marathon not being canceled this weekend?

  1. I'm not really qualified to speak, but I think it was a good decision to cancel the NYC marathon. I feel horrible for all the runners who have trained HARD for months and years and prepared themselves physically and mentally.........but I just feel it wouldn't be right for all of the people who are without homes, without power, still suffering and staggering from Sandy. Next year can be an amazing tribute race to how far NYC has come back from all the devastation!!
    Just my two cents......

    1. I agree! I was glad that they finally canceled the race, but I do feel bad for those that spent so much money on registration and travel and those that have waited a few years to get in to the race. It was nice to see all the runners volunteering though!
