Weekend Review: Lululemon Run Om Cincy

Saturday: 13.5 mile run, 90(?) minutes of yoga

I successfully cut back on running last week and gave myself a few complete days of rest.
While my foot is still a little sore, I believe it paid off since I was able to run over 13 miles on Saturday!

Saturday morning my alarm went off at 4:50 a.m.
Yikes!
Luckily, it was for an absolutely epic event!

The local Lululemon stores put on an entirely free event called Run Om Cincy.
You had the option of running from one of 3 locations for distances of 6, 3, or 1 miles to Great American Ballpark (home of the Reds!) then participating in a 90 minute yoga class on the baseball outfield. If running wasn't your thing, you could just show up at the baseball field for yoga. So many options - definitely something for everyone!

I met my friend Emily at her house at 6, then we ran to the Hyde Park Square Lululemon (1 mile)
We then checked in and waited for the official start at 6:30 before running with the group to GABP.

Lululemon provided yoga mats for all of the runners.
Once everyone got settled, we started our yoga. Several different instructors lead different segments of the class.

It was an absolutely beautiful morning and it was so neat to be lying on a yoga mat in the middle of the outfield.

Halfway through the class we attempted to break the world record for the number of people doing headstands at one time. The current record was 265. Over 2000 people were participating, so hopefully at least 266 of them were able to do headstands.
I am not one of them.

After yoga we ran back home. They provided bus transportation, but we wanted more mileage and it just felt silly to take bus back!

We ended up running 13.5 miles total. I didn't use my watch for the run to the Lululemon store in the morning, so it was off by a mile.

It was so much fun to see so many people coming together to participate. I hope they do this again next year!

Saturday night we were substitutes on our friend's bowling league.
My husband bowled a 253 one game. Seriously!

Apparently I married a pro bowler!

The weekend was rounded out with errands, football, meeting up with a friend and this amazing pumpkin turkey chili simmering on the stove Sunday night.
Hello, fall!

Yoga and Girls Night

Tuesday p.m: YodaStudio App class, 15 minutes

Last night was quite a busy night.
I had to hit the grocery store on the way home from work. I really dislike grocery shopping, it always seem to take way longer than I think it should.

I had to buy an orange soda while in line to check out because I was feeling the beginning signs of a fainting spell. I really just needed to get home and have dinner, but I needed the groceries so I could make dinner.
Luckily, the orange soda did the trick, no passing out for me!

After a quick snack I did a short yoga workout. I wanted to try a 30 minute class on the YogaStudio app, but with not feeling great I didn't want to chance it. Too many downward dogs might have pushed me over the edge.

There are lots of classes to choose from and you can even link them together to make a longer class or choose your own poses to create a class.
Since I have been out of practicing yoga for a while now, I have stuck to the Beginner classes. I have only done a few so far, but I have really liked them.

It is very easy to follow along and I only  need to glance at the screen occasionally to make sure I am doing the correct pose.

Later in the evening I headed out to meet a few girlfriends.
I always laugh very hard when I am with them. Makes my heart happy!

This cutie patootie hung out with us for a bit too!
She has been praying for my cat almost every night before bed. How sweet!
She also calls HTB "Bald" which totally cracks me up.
I have no idea who taught her that!

And just to make this post even more random - here is my attempt at being fashionable today:

Happy Wednesday! Have a wonderful day!

Weights, Yoga and Snow, Oh My!

Tuesday p.m.: Weights
Wednesday: Yoga and Snow Shoveling
Thursday a.m.: Insanity Pure Cardio

We hit the gym for some weights right after work on Tuesday in hopes of not getting snowed on.
We made it (and only got rained on).
It was definitely hard - once again too much time had passed between weight lifting sessions.
My workout was whole body with a bicep focus.
The biceps were crying after the first exercise.

I should probably work on my selfies skills so I don't bore you with dumb pics like this
Well, the forecast said snow and snow it did!

It's so pretty, but I am totally looking forward to 50s and 60s this weekend!

So, Wednesday morning tried out my new Yoga Studio App (in the comfort of my own bedroom!)  that I won from Jen
Guess what....I totally loved it!

I only did a 15 minute flexibility session, so I will write more after I try a few more sessions.

Since my arms didn't hurt bad enough after the bicep workout Tuesday night, I shoveled snow on Wednesday.

This shovel is a monster. The pic doesn't do it justice.
HTB got to come home to a nice clear(ish) driveway. Can I get fiancee of the year award for this?

This morning Autumn and I got up even earlier to do Insanity Pure Cardio.
In the mornings we do the workout in our gym at work in the group fitness room.
A new class was added Thursday mornings that starts at 6:15, so we had to make sure we were finished by then. Which means starting right at 5:30.
Lately we've been starting at 5:45 or 5:50. 15-20 minutes makes a HUGE difference that early in the morning, but we both made it.

And we might have jumped on the bikes for 10 minutes afterwards as well.
We might be insane.
Or we both just have beach vacations coming up!
